On a journey to Cambodia, The Brave Collection founder Jessica Hendricks fell in love with its culture and beauty, but was deeply struck by the sight of young girls lined up in front of bars as items for sale. After listening to heart-wrenching stories of sexual trafficking survivors, she found they were the bravest and most beautiful women she had ever met. Their determination and survival are the inspiration for the Able Made x The Brave Collection partnership.
“Kiri,” a popular girls name in Cambodia, represents the women of Cambodia, while “Klahan” (Klaa-han) means “Brave” in “Khmer” (Khem-eye), the language of Cambodia. These words come together to embody the remarkable bravery found in human trafficking survivors.
Through this collaboration, Able Made and The Brave Collection will reinvest proceeds equivalent to the cost of a month of specialized life and business skills training to survivors of human trafficking in Cambodia through the Somaly Mam Foundation. Buy this limited-edition bracelet and be a part of a collaboration empowering many brave women.
